Production Through Performance
Put the power of music creation in the hands of your students with Production Through Performance. This course teaches basic piano skills and theory through musical composition using the DAW Soundtrap. Students learn to play and record drum grooves, chordal parts, bass lines, and melodies on the piano keyboard, providing them with an excellent foundation in musicianship while engaging with the music they listen to.

Students work on how to make music from scratch. They learn to create drum grooves, bass lines, chordal parts, and instrumental melodies using a MIDI keyboard and Soundtrap. These skills set the stage for students to explore diverse genres like sample-based hip-hop, catchy pop songs, and EDM compositions.

Engaging resources include fillable PDF worksheets, animations, walkthrough videos, and Soundtrap templates. Students can apply course skills through embedded templates.
